Chocolate City album description:

This film was inspired by another film, which also is present on this site – Magic Mike 2002 (before it was a sequel named Magic Mike XXL) with Channing Tatum. By the way, he was invited to star here, but he politely declined. Maybe, he knew that he was going to star in the sequel, who knows?
The bottom line is almost the same – a strip show, but all the performers are Afro-Americans.
The nature of the collection is given with the black rap. A little bit of R'n'b (Tonight and Once You Arrive by Evan Kapparelli) brings a slight touch of glam. Not much more of musical characteristic can be said as one style completely dominates, with a brilliant representative in a Pony composition. The songs created specifically for the film, but you can not say that they would not have been written as independent ones since reel of film uses these songs just as the backdrop for shows, without any underscore what is happening on the screen.
It is noteworthy that most of the songs performed by men and only three – by women, but the level of performance of the latter is much higher (bright example is Candice).
For whom the album will be interesting? For fans of classic black rap, obviously.
