"Flash" by Object as Subject seems to dip into the self-realization, shedding off the burdens, the longing of liberation from the past or one's demons. The words paint one sensation of a person's shadow haunting one, or in a totally different perspective, one can feel like one is locked up within his own body—a "ghost in my own skin." It points toward a meaning that is indicative of or a desire for change in or from the confinement of breaking free from oneself—meaning one's own limitations or societies'.

It very well explains possibly the mentioning of "low medicine" and "bind me to this legacy," symbolize what the difficulties of the norms one has inherited, and the pain or toxicity one gets from not following what he really is or desires.
